Verse: 01

We値l meet again when this world ends,
but until then,
I値l remember all your good years,
your bad and your lean years,
your laughter and your tears.
I値l remember how you came through it all,
standing so tall,
never complaining,
because you were too tough to fall.
I値l remember how you always had time
for a friend, a smile and a helping hand.
You were a big, big-hearted man.
Yes, we値l meet again when this world ends,
but until then,
I値l remember all the funny things
you used to say and do
and all the wonderful times that we shared, too.
Yes, I値l remember from day to day,
and I just want to say
We値l meet again when this world ends,
but until then,
thanks for being my friend.

Verse: 02

For God so loved the world, that He gave
His only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but
have everlasting life. John [3:16]

Verse: 03

It is in pardoning
that we are pardoned.
In giving, that we receive,
and in dying
that we are born
to eternal life.

Verse: 04

Where is the heart that doth not keep
within its inmost core,
Some fond remembrance
Hidden deep of days that are no more.

Verse: 05

God looked around His garden
and He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this
earth, and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
God痴 garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb
So He closed your weary eyelids,
and whispered, 撤eace be thine.
It broke our hearts to lose you but
you didn稚 go alone,
For part of us went with you
the day God called you home.

Verse: 06

A (lady/man) of Great Character whose
judgment, humor and friendly spirit
brought out the finest in those around
(her/him). The influence of (her/his) life
upon others is a flame that will burn
brightly forever.
(She/He) left so much good with
every soul (she/he) touched on this earth.

Verse: 07

Gone is a mother loved by all,
Her soul is now at rest.
She値l sleep in peace, her work is done.
A mother痴 work覧the best.
She値l know the joy of perfect rest
In heaven up above,
Where she may dwell contentedly
Protected by God痴 love.
Our hearts may grieve that she must lie
Beneath the sacred sod,
And yet we know she lives in peace
Within the house of God.

Verse: 08

Gone is a father loved by all,
His soul is now at rest.
He値l sleep in peace, his work is done.
A father痴 work覧the best.
He値l know the joy of perfect rest
In heaven up above,
Where he may dwell contentedly
Protected by God痴 love.
Our hearts may grieve that he must lie
Beneath the sacred sod,
And yet we know he lives in peace
Within the house of God.

Verse: 09

A million times we致e needed you,
A million times we致e cried.
If love alone could致e saved you,
You never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place,
No one else will ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn稚 go alone.
Part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.

Verse: 10

(Name) was a sensitive friend, who loved
the outdoors and the freedom it offered.
Because of (him/her), we have learned
that nothing is more precious than life.
Tomorrow is not promised to us, and thus
each day should be lived to the fullest.
With (his/her) fondness for life, (he/she) loved people
and made those close to (him/her) feel that love.
To live on in the hearts and minds of those
you leave behind is not to have died at all.

Verse: 11

I cannot say, and I will not say
That she is dead. She is just away!
With a cheery smile
and a wave of the hand,
She has wandered into an unknown land
And left us dreaming how very fair
It needs to be, since she lingers there.
Think of her faring on, as dear
In the love of There as the love of Here;
Think of her still as the same, I say:
She is not dead - she is just - Away!

Verse: 11a

I cannot say, and I will not say
That he is dead. He is just away!
With a cheery smile
and a wave of the hand,
He has wandered into an unknown land
And left us dreaming how very fair
It needs to be, since he lingers there.
Think of him faring on, as dear
In the love of There as the love of Here;
Think of him still as the same, I say:
He is not dead - he is just - Away!

Verse: 12

One night I had a dream. I dreamed I was
walking along the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging to
me and the other to the Lord. When the
last scene of my life flashed before me, I
looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path
of my life, there was only one set of
footprints. I also noticed that it happened
at the very lowest and saddest times in
my life. This really bothered me, and I
questioned the Lord about it. 鏑ord, You
said that once I decided to follow You,
You壇 walk with me all the way. But I have
noticed that during the most troublesome
times in my life, there is only one set of
footprints. I don稚 understand why, when
I needed you most, You would leave me.
The Lord replied, 溺y child, my precious
one, I love you, and I would never leave
you. During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints, it
was then that I carried you.

Verse: 13

The Stars and Stripes, they flew forever
always in his heart.
He was loyal to his nation
and bravely did his part.
Always thinking of his brother
ever in his mind,
He stood for love of country
and most of all, mankind.
Now gazing down with his Master
through a light and heavenly cloud,
He's still looking out for all of us
of whom he is so proud.

Verse: 14

I still see him in the early dawn,
that big smile on his face,
With rod and reel and tackle box,
Heading for his special place.

Or gathering his gun and that old dog,
down the road they壇 go.
The joy he got from those short trips
was more than we will ever know.

He痴 come home now, as the sun sets west,
with that same big smile on his face.
He痴 landed the big one, the very best...
And Heaven is now his special place.

Verse: 15

Don稚 grieve for me, for now I知 free,
I知 following the path God laid for me,
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too, will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life痴 been full, I致e savored much.
Good friends, good times, a loved one痴 touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don稚 lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me.
God wanted me now, He set me free.

Verse: 16

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me into the path of righteousness
for his name痴 sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the
presence of mine enemies;
thou annointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord forever.

Verse: 17

Through God痴 grace you were ours,
for a little while.
Now you live in everlasting light,
forever God痴 precious little child.
You will live on in our hearts,
our thoughts and everything we do,
and at the end of every day we
pray to God and thank Him for the
gift of you.

Verse: 18

I壇 like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I壇 like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.
I壇 like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I壇 like the tears of those who grieve
to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave
when life is done.

Verse: 19

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle痴 flight.
Then God combined these qualities,
Making something like no other,
His masterpiece was now complete,
He lovingly called it Mother.

Verse: 20

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle痴 flight.
Then God combined these qualities
And there was nothing more to add.
His masterpiece was now complete,
He lovingly called it Dad.

Verse: 20a

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle痴 flight.
Then God combined these qualities
And there was nothing more to blend.
His masterpiece was now complete
He lovingly called it Friend.

Verse: 21

When God calls little children
to dwell with Him above,
we mortals sometime question
the wisdom of His love.
Perhaps God tires
of calling the aged to His fold,
so He picks a rosebud
before it can grow old.
He knows how we need them,
and so He takes but a few
to make the land of Heaven
more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult
still somehow we must try,
the saddest word mankind knows
will always be 敵oodbye.
So when a little child departs,
we who are left behind
must realize God loves children:
Angels are hard to find.

Verse: 22

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little and not too long,
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared.
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all part of life's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart,
Go to the family and friends we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
Miss me, but let me go.

Verse: 23

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awake in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Verse: 24

May the road rise up
to meet you,
May the wind be always
at your back,
May the sun shine warm
upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon
your fields,
And until we meet again,
may God hold you
in the palm of his hand.

Verse: 25

God needs someone in heaven
to plow and plant the rows.
And when He calls on me,
I know that I must go.
Remember that I won't be gone--
I will just be away,
working on God's farm
'til we're united again one day.
There will be no storms in heaven
and the fields are long and straight.
When it's time for you to join me,
I'll be waiting inside heaven's gate.
Remember, until that day arrives,
when once more our lives we'll share,
to look in the green fields growing
and you'll see me working there.

Verse: 26

Jesus is a prayer away.
He's always close at hand
to help us through
the trying times,
to help us understand
that life is not all roses,
there are thorns along the way.
But He's as near as He can be...
For He's just a prayer away!

Verse: 27

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the ability to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Verse: 28

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be,
so He put His arms around you
and whispered "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you,
and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A Golden Heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

Verse: 29

When I am gone, release me, let me go...
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears.
Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love. You can only guess
how much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
but now it's time I traveled on alone.

So grieve, a while for me if you must.
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part.
So bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, call, and I will come.
Though you can't see, I'll be near
and if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile saying,
"Welcome Home!"

Verse: 30

Love is kind,
Love never fails,
Faith, Hope, and Love
But the greatest of
these is love.

Verse: 31

Give what's left of me away
To children
And old folks that wait to die.
And if you need to cry,
Cry for your brother and sister
Walking the street beside you.
And when you need me,
Put your arms around someone
and give them
What you need to give me.
I want to leave you something,
Something better
Than words or sounds.
Look for me in the people
I've known or loved,
And if you cannot give me away,
At least let me live in your eyes
And not in your mind
You can love me most
By letting hands touch hands,
By letting bodies touch bodies,
And by letting go of children
That need to be free.
Love doesn't die. People do.
So, when all that's left of me
Is love, Give me away.

Verse: 32

God has not promised
skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways
all our lives through;
God has not promised
sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow,
peace without pain.

But God has promised
strength for the day,
Rest for the labor,
light for the way,
Grace for the trials,
help from above,
Unfailing sympathy
undying love.

Verse: 33

I thank you for the love that each has shown,
but now it's time I travel on alone.

So grieve a while for me if grieve you must,
then let your grief be comforted by trust.

It's only a while that we must part,
so bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away; I'll be quite near.
Just call me softly and I will hear.

Verse: 34

Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow,
but remember me in every tomorrow.
My going has eased my pain and given relief,
so dry your eyes and forget your grief.
Remember the joy, our laughter, my smile
and that our being apart is just for awhile.
Remember me also as I used to be.
Understand in your hearts, so precious to me,
that I've gone on ahead to dwell up above,
and 'til we're once more together...
You have all of my love.

Verse: 35

Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we
forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For Thine is the kingdom, and the
power, and the glory, forever.

Amen.

Verse: 36

God's garden has need of a little flower.
It had grown for a time here below.
But in tender love.
He took it above.
In more favorable clime to grow.

Verse: 37 - The Broken Chain

We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly.
In death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories.
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

Verse: 38 - Safely Home

I am home in heaven, dear ones,
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over.
Every restless tossing passed.
I am now at peace forever,
Knowing you shall rest in God痴 own land.

There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand.
Do it now, while life remaineth-
You shall rest in God痴 own land.

When that work is all completed
He will gently call you Home.
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!

Verse: 39 - A Stairway to Heaven

If tears could build a stairway
and thoughts a memory lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again.
No Farewell words were spoken.
No time to say good-bye.
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knows why.

Verse: 40 - I Thought of You Today

I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too.
I think of you in silence and I often speak your name.
All I have are memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is my keepsake with which I値l never part
For God has you in His keeping, and I have you in my heart.

Verse: 41 - Weep Not For Me

Weep not for me though I am gone
Into the gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long
Upon my souls sweet flight.
There is no need for tears.
I am at peace, my soul is at rest.
There is no pain, I suffer not.
For with your love I was so blessed.
I am in a place of comfort,
The fear now is gone.
Put those things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath.
Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.

Verse: 42 - High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I致e climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, and done a hundred things
you have not dreamed of謡heeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov池ing there,
I致e chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air....

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I致e topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark nor even eagle flew
And, while with silent lifting mind I致e trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Verse: 43 - Missed

Those we love don't go away,
For they walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed, and very dear.

Verse: 44 - Death is Nothing at All

Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
All is well.

Verse: 45 - Stars

Perhaps they are not
stars in the sky,
but rather openings
where our loved ones
shine down
to let us know they
are happy.

Verse: 46 - When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me
and I知 not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,
all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn稚 cry
the way you did today,
while thinking of the many things
we didn稚 get to say.

I know how much you loved me,
as much as I love you,
and each time that you think of me,
I know you値l miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me
please try to understand,
That an Angel came and called my name
and took me by the hand.

When tomorrow starts without me,
don稚 think we池e far apart,
for every time you think of me,
I知 right here, in your heart.

Verse: 47 - The Fisherman's Prayer

God grant that I may live to fish
until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast
I then most humbly pray
when in the Lord痴 safe landing net
I am peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be judged
As big enough to keep.

Verse: 48 - One Final Gift

Scatter me not to the restless winds,
Nor toss my ashes to the sea.
Remember now those years gone by...
When loving gifts I gave to thee.
Remember now these happy times...
The family ties we shared.
Don't leave my resting place unmarked
As though you never cared.
Deny me not one final gift
For all who come to see...
A single lasting proof that says
I loved...and you loved me.

Verse: 49 - Life Is But A Stopping Place

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be.
A resting place along the road
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys.

Different paths along the way.
We all were meant to learn some things
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.

Verse: 50 - Memories

Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade
because a loved one's gone.
Those we love can never be more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart.
